Normally I would not post content that is not related to ancient Egypt and its language, but given my last post, I thought Id make an exception. Below is a link to a video of a very good friend and colleague of mine, Bro. Lasana Hotep, speaking at the MK Institute in Philadelphia in September of this year. The title of his presentation is: What the Hip-Hop Generation Can Learn From the Old School. I marked the time of the discussion that is relevant to my point here. If you want to listen to the whole speech, of course you can just start it from the beginning. But a little ways after this mark in the discussion, Lasana talks about the importance of formal education and the impact that psuedo-scholarship is having on our people. I thought it a relevant discussion given the recently shared picture of the Egyptian red crown being argued to be the inspiration behind Santa Clauses hat and sleigh.
