Norman E. Calhoun March 10, 2014 CARTHAGE, N.Y. — Norman E. Calhoun, 63, of Line School Road, passed away Saturday, March 8, at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice following a brief illness. The funeral will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home. A calling hour will precede the service from 3 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the spring in North Watertown Cemetery. Born Aug. 21,1950, in Watertown, a son to Merton and Ella Sweeney Calhoun, he worked for many years as a painter at various places. He married Capitola Greenfield on Feb. 14, 1990, in Brownville, NY. Mr. Calhoun enjoyed playing bingo and was also a bingo caller for the Three Mile Bay Bingo Hall. Surviving besides his wife, Capitola, are his 3 daughters: Angel (James) Ryan, Watertown; Michelle (Phillip II) Stevenson, Watertown; Maryann Calhoun, Carthage; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Donald (Deb) Calhoun; Edward (Rita) Calhoun; John(Danielle) Calhoun; a sister: Jane (Gary) Gardner and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A daughter, Tammy Calhoun, two sisters, Mary Alberry and Doris White, and a brother, Lawrence Calhoun, all died before him. Arrangements are Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Inc.
