Norse Rune Stone Reader Dr. Charlotte Pipes “Brunhilde” Dr. Charlotte Pipes is a career university music professor and classical musician for 30 years, recently retired from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. She is currently a performing member of New Orleans Musica da Camera, a professional ensemble specializing in medieval and renaissance music. As a personal avocation she has created vocal music specifically designed for use in Pagan rituals. She is a Wiccan practitioner who has participated in the Craft for over 20 years, where she is known as Brunhilde. Her preferred method of divination utilizes Norse Runes. She currently leads a Wiccan group in the Faubourg St. John area of New Orleans called the Bayou Witches Circle. Dr. Pipes has presented lectures on Wicca, Scrying, Rune Casting, Pagan Music, Neolithic Studies and Herbal Magick to audiences in several venues: university humanities classes, literary conventions, sci-fi/fantasy conventions, Pagan conventions, internet podcasts and Wiccan discussion groups. Her articles on runes, the pentagram and divination can be found online at witchvox.net. Her interests include astronomy, spiritualism and ancient earth magick. She has traveled to Stone Age cultural centers all over Europe in order to study first-hand the monuments and artifacts left by our ancestors. Her lectures encompass the culmination of many spiritual journeys that bring a fresh and dynamic perspective to the material she presents.
