North West and Coleraine District Youth League, U12 Result Moyola Olympic, sponsored by Henry Brothers (Magherafelt) Ltd v Coleraine Olympic 28 September 2013 Moyola Olympic started their campaign with a tough start against Coleraine Olympic. Coleraine started strongly and with a superior control on the ball always looked the team to make things happen. It didn’t take long for the Coleraine lads to start their scoring spree with goals completely rattling Moyola and as the goals went in their confidence began to fall. Even changes from the side lines could not help the onslaught. Before they knew it Moyola were 5-0 down and chasing shadows was taking its toll on the fitness. Moyola were sluggish, slow and uninterested at times. The only positive came as the whistle blew for half time and a goal scored for Coleraine didn’t count. Dermot, Moyola’s Coach gave an honest and brutal team talk, and with a few changes to positions and personnel on the pitch Moyola came out believing they could change proceedings. Early on in the second half the Castledawson outfit came out fighting, pushing forward and chests puffed out with a mindset that they had something to prove. A few chances followed with Peter Evans showing some skill, an effort from Alan Chambers curling wide and defensively looking up for it, Moyola were awarded for their endeavours. James Bryson striding forward and as the ball fell to him he tucked it in nicely. With the score at 5-1 to Coleraine, both sets of management applauded the lads for their enthusiasm. The score had almost lost its relevance as Moyola continued their impressive start. A few moments later Coleraine, although visibly rattled pushed for more and were awarded a penalty for a handball in the box by a Moyola midfielder. Despatched in a typically cool fashion, Coleraine leading 6-1, now pushed again and although another goal made it 7-1, Moyola took great delight in their transformation from first half to second half. Positives in a game where they looked to be few and far between, came in the form of Thomas Ewing who played an uplifting game for the rest of his team mates to feed off and make the most of their second half come back, albeit short lived.
