NorthWest Houston MonGoose Riders--------White Oak Bayou Bike Trail There are a couple of us NorthWest Houston Dolomite Riders here on this page and there may be even more, certainly a few more in the Houston City limits. There are some great Bike Trails here in town and one brand new one is the White Oak Bayou Bike Trail. Conveniently I live about 1/2 mile from the intersection of W. 43rd and T.C. Jester Blvd., smack in the middle of an 8 mile portion of the paved concrete trail that is being added to constantly and will soon run all the way into downtown. It beats those 3 wide bike lanes on city streets. If you would like to see aerial photography of the trail, and other Houston Bike Trails, you can use Google Earth Satellite (go to the site and install it, you dont need to choose the Google Toolbar) type in White Oak Bayou Bike Trail, Houston, Texas and it will bring you about 3000 feet over the mid section of the trail. You can then zoom in and even drag the little human icon from the upper right of your screen for a Street Level View where you can ride the trail on your screen. Theres not much to see along this 8 mile stretch but it is a clean, wide, paved trail that in one section has an additional crushed cinder trail. Hermann Park and Memorial Park also have some beautiful trails but White Oak is never crowded and is close by for me. Heres a link to other Houston Bike Trails, type their addresses into the search window at Google Earth Satellite and you can view them also, houston.about/od/sportsrecreation/tp/BestBikeTrails.htm
