Northern Caucus In Parliament In my days at the office of parliament, I noticed that there are so many unofficial parliamentary groupings otherwise known as caucuses.This is permissible within the standing orders of the house. I heard of Volta Caucus, Ashanti Caucus, Northern Caucus etc. My difficulty was that, unlike Northern Caucus, I saw the vibrancy and a higher commitment of members in most of the other groups. Apart from differences on party lines, members mostly come together to chart a common developmental interest for their respective regions. Theres is a vacant voice from the northern caucus, I wonder how effective they can organise themselves for the interest of our land. At the moment, we have crack Mps like Dr. Yakubu Alhassan, Inusah Fuseini, Ibrahim Dey, Iddrisu Haruna, Nitiwul, ABA Fuseini, Ibrahim Murtala, Dr. Tia Sugri and others, what are these people doing at all? Theres no doubt that SADA is in crisis, how about Tamale Airport issue? Every other year, we have unending crisis with organising hajj for our prospective Pilgrims. As our representatives cant they provide an oasis of hope in a desert of these crises?
