Nostalgic about the Vernon Paper Co.? This 1950s era view of Newark Ave. and North Ave. shows the Vernon building and the Tydol gas station across the street. The Vernon building dated to the WW I era when it was built by the Duesenberg Motors Co. It then became part of the vast Durant Motors plant which went bankrupt in 1930. A Super Stop & Shop is at this location today. The gas station was replaced by the Ronald Reagan School.
