(Not a rant but a commentary) I have been engaging in lots of discussions as of late pertaining to the issue of getting more #regenfarms off the ground. In the USA, there is an extreme shortage of food that is nutrient dense and grown in the #regenerative or #restorative way, especially staple crops. It is our opportunity and obligation to make this food available. When we build a house we build the foundation first. The foundation of a #RegenerativeFarmingSystem is actually a social revolution. It takes a village, and the village must function. We are designing social systems- whether the system is run as a monarchy, democracy, or egalitarian altruistic charitable situation, there are social implications. In my opinion, the most enlightened model for this new agri-social revolution is based on community, with the family as the core. Decision making models may differ but the basis is that everyone agree to how decisions are being made. Classic challenges to community functionality are power and money, two favorite toys of the ego. I believe it is imperative that we first focus on ourselves in the sense that we always strive to be better people. To help our family and loved ones, even strangers, when they are in need. To constantly learn new things and improve our skills in whatever our gift is. Most importantly, we must keep our egos in check. The positive influence of the ego can be passion, inspiration, creativity, dedication, but the negative influence of ego can tear us apart and undermine that which really serves to benefit us. We must not take anything personally. This may sounds like new age mumbo jumbo but I honestly think this is the foundation of our #RegenerativeCulture. #CasitasValleyFarm #CasitasValleyCreamery #RegenerativeEarth
