Not all of you will want to read these comments Im about to make, but I hope youll give them a thought and realize that we share this world with all kinds of people, religions, customs, and faiths. Now is the time everyone wants to complain about who says Merry Christmas or another greeting. First and foremost Merry Christmas is NOT the only greeting we give at this time of year. Ive seen Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, Happy Ho Ho day or others? All of those greetings I would be happy to hear because they bring joy when you say them, instead of the ignorant everyday, if any, during the rest of the year. Lets just stick with Christmas for now. Why would you be upset to hear anything other than Merry Christmas, or the ever-present Merry X-mas that people are offensive of. Lets get real. Is it Christmas, is Santa Clause? Is it Kwanza, Is it Hanukkah? These are only a few of the holidays people celebrate at these days of December. Why in the world would you begrudge someone else beliefs? It boggles the mind. Its Thanksgiving this week, and on the same day its a family members birthday. Should everyone be offended if the birthday is little more important to some than just Thanksgiving? Its the Countrys New years in a couple of weeks. Does it offend you if some citizens celebrate their New Years on other months or days? You have to broaden your horizons. Not all of our ancestors came from America. Does that make us aliens? Youd be hard pressed to find many even in your hometown that were true settlers. There are soon many different , I wont say problems, but CHALLENGES in our every day lives. Why would you say to someone to leave the country of which they are a citizen to go elsewhere if they dont agree with your opinion? Other comments , of which there are MANY, come with political opinions. Where are these in connection with saying Merry Christmas but IF you dont agree with me take your (which by the way Is really OUR) blah blah president and leave. Last I knew we have many political figures, that were elected by the people of America, that are supposed to be acting on behalf of Americans. You dont need to agree with every act that is elected on, but since they are elected by the PEOPLE you should be proud to back them up on the decisions that are made on EVERYONES behalf. Just because YOUR candidate wasnt elected doesnt mean you should undermine them, BUT SUPPORT the decisions of ALL Americans. How are these two statements connected? Seems anyone that doesnt agree with your own opinion is WRONG> At this time of year were all wishing each other our best greetings for the season, and the New Year. Can we all agree to broaden our minds, accept the things that we cannot change and be THANKFUL for all that we have. And maybe your New Years Resolution can be to open your minds and listen, before you put ANYONE down because they may not believe with yours!!
