Not gonna lie, yesterday was a very rough afternoon at our house. I wrote down some questions for myself about the fragility of my joy, about contentment regardless of circumstances and HOW do I consider it pure joy when we are in a rough patch? With coffee in hand I started at Proverbs 31 ministries and searched devos on contentment and the first one shared the verse below- and I LOVE this translation! The devo author also reminded me that we have to CHOOSE joy even though we dont FEEL joy at the moment. Last night after a few tears escaped from my eyeballs I turned on Air 1 and the song playing was You Are An Overcomer by Mandisa. Good timing Lord! I needed to hear that- thank you! I think my next dance will be to this song :) James 1:3-4Living Bible (TLB) for when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. So let it grow, and don’t try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete.
