Not much in the way of requests to see the seal pup being born but as its such a wonderful thing to witness, here are the photos anyway. I love the way that the mother gently cradles the pup as it comes out, guiding it into the world softly with no sudden bump onto the rocks. Also the photo where the mother is turning to look at her pup for the first time, that one melts my heart every time. These photos were taken at The Wick on Skomer island while i was volunteering some years ago. Just lucky to be in the right place at the right time. Ill never forget it & the experience was shared with my friend Pip who works at Slimbridge WWT. Good to see you at the exhibition Pip.
