Not slure how genuine screw balls get chosen for school committees, or why any educator pays any attention to their ideas. Anyone who confuses national holidays like Christmas or Easter with relgion must live in a total time warp. Clearly the recognition of these days has become nothing more than an opportunity to promote consumer spending. Even the Supreme Court realized this in the Lynch case, The display(of a nativity) is sponsored by the city to celebrate the Holiday and to depict the origins of that Holiday. These are legitimate secular purposes. The District Courts inference, drawn from the religious nature of the creche, that the city has no secular purpose was, on this record, clearly erroneous.
