Not sure if I should take this offensively or not. I just had a middle age Caucasian lady come up to the desk, asked if I was busy, I said no. Then all of the sudden she starts playing a Spanish speaking voicemail and bluntly asked me to translate it for her. Never did she asked if I spoke the language or if I was capable to do such thing. I was a bit shocked & honestly offended. Not that I consider myself a non-Hispanic person or that Im ashamed of who I am, because I am proud to be Mexican. Just simply the ignorance of someone to assume that others speak a language based on their looks. What really ticked me off was the fact that when I lied and told her I did not speak Spanish, she seemed EXTREMELY surprised, looked me up & down & said well I wouldve assumed you did & walks away....
