Not sure why I suddenly remembered this - long ago I had an interesting conversation with a French colleague about my love for certain French composers - the usual Ravel, Debussy and Faure, of course, but also Poulenc and Canteloube. And who is zees canteloupe? she asked. I have never heared of heem, but dat is a name for ze melon, you know. I think you made that up. I convinced her to look for his work, but she said she never found him. She told me as well that she likewise had never heard Poulencs Gloria before (!) but after she found it and listened to it, she did say she had enjoyed it.
