It sounds like the infection actually started below and spread up to the shunt. They will consult with infectious diseases to monitor her progress. In the meantime, this semi-private room (now on roommate #4! ) is presenting its own unique set of challenges. (But I did get my crown repaired by a dentist close to the hospital).
