Not the tears we shed, its the harvest we reap James 1:2-4 -- My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. The Bible teaches many life lessons that in the natural seem contradictory to the norm. This is one of them...”count it all joy when you fall into various trials.” It doesnt seem natural to be joyful when we are dealing with personal or illness of a loved one or emotional crisis brought on by financial or relationship problems. Yet that is exactly what God is asking us to do…”count it all joy”. The truth is He isnt asking us to enjoy the hurts and pains of adversities, but to embrace them with joy knowing that each experience will bring with it wisdom and truth that will help us grow as better persons. We all have had problems of our own to live through at one point or another, but what’s important is our attitude…how we allowed each to test our faith and produce patience in us. We know God have created and control all things. His desire is for you and me to have nothing but the very best. He uses each crisis we face for our good. While we may sow in tears, we must keep in mind that the harvest is for us to reap…the sweet fruit of His righteousness in our lives will make us complete and lacking nothing good.
