Not your status but your stature. Hello friends; …..why worry so long about your present status, your problem is not first of all in your status but in your stature. Your problem is not your lack of job, wife or husband, your problem isn’t even your lack of money, the problem is that you are short of God’s mercy. Or suppose you that I talk of your physical stature? No. don’t get me wrong, I talk of something more important, your spiritual stature, I talk of the measure of your stature when compared to the stature of the fullness of Christ (Eph 4:13)… the truth is that you are very short, perherbs even more than Mr. Zacchaeus of the bible days (Luke 19: 1-6) You know he was a notable man in the society, just like many of you. Popularity was not his problem, he had that, by virtue of his work as a tax collector. Money was not his problem, for he was very rich like many today, yet he could not reach the divine height of God’s purpose for his life because he was of a short stature. Are you wondering what has made you short like Zacchaeus? Even though you appear tall to the ordinary eye. I have a suggestion for you….its “SIN” ….. Sin cuts a man short… for all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God. (Rom 3: 23) If you are sincere, then you must not be surprise at my suggestion. You cannot run away from this reality, it is sin, it’s right inside of you….you know how it has reduced you to nothing but a piece of bread…I hope you have not forgotten how much virtue sin have stolen from your life? That’s the one you can remember, what about those you cannot remember? Look friends, I must tell you the truth… that is just the beginning. Sin does not come with a one point agenda, sin has only three point agenda, it does not only come to steal from men, it also kills and eventually destroys them in hell. Actually this your short stature would not have become a serious problem to you…for we all inherited it from the first Adam…only that 1. You are covering up your stature with you status in the mist of the crowd 2. You have rejected and neglected God’s provision for your deliverance – “the lift of divine grace” ….. That is what makes even Zacchaeus wiser than you. Rather than hide in the crowd with religious activity, do you know what he did? He ran out of the crowd not minding his status, and located the sycamore tree (a symbolic of the cross of Jesus…for Jesus was hanged on a tree), which he climbed before his story changed. Why not do the same, harden not your heart, come to the foot of the cross today …for Christ had already been hanged there for all of us. Come to Calvary now, tarry not, linger not… for their lies our deliverance, for there lays our lift of divine grace. Bow your heart
