Nothing Owed Yesterday I had my first Reiki training session The master warned when serving to Proceed with discretion She talked of balance, symmetry Harmony, giving back Most people who are served in This world completely lack The selflessness to repay the Giver who tried to aid To strengthen and encourage those Who are hurt and dismayed I’ve given my encouragement Through my blog and my page And just a handful of kind souls Did bother to engage Just a precious few took time To respond with reply I’ve seen statistics which show most Read but don’t even try To create a balance by Giving, they simply take And when my voice falls silent Many finally awake But only to write in and say “I miss your writing, friend! Please come back! I need your words To make my anguish end!” This message is aimed just at those Who only care to speak When it’s to say, “You owe me more!” Here is my stern critique: I owe you NOTHING, but in fact Something is owed to me You’ve created an imbalance Now it’s YOUR turn to be The giver, the encourager The one who cares to raise Someone else other than you With words of loving praise So get to it, because if all You have to say is, “More!” All you will receive from me Is my Warrior roar As I see fit to delete and To block you from my sight Those who care just of themselves Are not owed what I write
