Nothing in the fox trap today; will try again tomorrow. I left the Black Copper Marans cockerel in for a few hours, then swapped him out for the Blue Copper Marans cockerel around 3:30, another brave volunteer. Both are whole, well, fed, and safely in the coop with their flock for the night. There was no way I was going to leave a terrified, solitary chicken in a trap all night. Thinking I might just as well cover all my bases, I just reset the weasel trap with some chicken livers I had socked away in the freezer from last time. While I was at it, I put some chicken livers in the fox trap, too, just for shits and giggles. Im nothing if not persistent. I want to catch the bastard(s), and my birds are tired of being closed up in the barn all day.
