Nothing stops the Yorubas or any other member Nation of the present Nigeria to have a Nation of their own. It is the choice of a simple majority over others. Election should be conducted within the Yoruba Nation and the result of the majority will be upheld and implemented. This means that the decision of the Yorubas to pull out of the current arranged marriage of Nations which was initiated and enforced by Lord Lugard in 1914 Jan 1st could be taken by the Yorubas themselves whenever they are ready to do so. For instance, Southern Cameroon which was merged in the same manner by the Great Britain after the end of WW 2 decided to pull out of Nigeria and they did so successfully without any row. Why should Yoruba Nation or any other Nation not able to pull out of unfavourable system which has no formal contractual arrangement or negotiation? The fact that there was a civil war when Biafra was about to pull out does not mean that there will be civil war if any of the nations that make up the present member of Nigerias Multinational Country. After all Biafra was stopped but Bakassi was let go by the decision of Gowon and the Judicial Power of the World Court. We should all remember that none ofd the member nations that make up Nigeria conquered the other before Nigeria was formed; therefore there is no need to go on protracted Civil war before we go back to our tents.
