Notice that AZ received an A for parent choice. A direct correlation. The Choice movement and its legislative reps have also been behind a de-funding shell game. They hate the public school system and resent its large bite out of their minuscule tax-less budget. Maybe it is time put up and pay for for what is important. Sigmund (AZ Charter Schools) is hardly the right spokesperson in this regard. I wonder how hard KTAR tried to find a public schools representative? Report Card sounds very definitive, doesnt it? This one comes from from a non- government, anti public school/ pro charter (pro-Choice) US Chamber of Commerce. Also not a good source for objective research on the subject of public school funding. Fred DuVals seems like the best place to start, but his big message for AZ Education reform seems to be Not One More Cut. We are going to need MUCH stronger leadership than that to fix (everybodys) AZ Education. Something like publicly calling for every AZ employer/stakeholder to pledge to a) grants to winning schools and b) pledges to raise their employees wages the amount necessary to offset the pre-calculated taxes, taxes to finance a surge in direct classroom support (personnel & technology & home broadband access)?
