Nov 30th - This is the last day of the month, as well as the end of the official daily thanksgiving posts (though there is ALWAYS something which I could post for which Im thankful - every day of the year, every minute!) Today, Steph, Ive saved the best for last... Eleven months ago, I said goodbye to our second daughter, Stephanie Jean Davy and her husband Rob. We were so blessed to have them with us for a month last December, from post- Thanksgiving activities, to her friend Lela Ratliffs wedding, then on to Mark and Autumn Elizabeth Pembertons wedding, and finally, Christmas in Greenville with NathanandTessa Lawson and the kids. I cherished every moment with them both! This is the first time we wont be together for Christmas, and Ive got to say its not going to be easy! Steph is this amazing, crazy blend of both Bobs and my personalities and temperaments! She has always been fiercely independant and self-reliant, as well as extremely sensitive. Even as a very young girl, if Steph saw something which needed doing, whether it be dishes, household chores, helping with children younger than herself, or giving hugs - she simply DID it - with care and compassion for others. Steph and her dad were in many ways kindred spirits in the way they looked at life, people - and most anything! And, she has grown into a young woman that I KNOW her dad would be SO proud of. He would also be so chuffed to know that she and Rob found each other! I miss and think about you, Steph - every single day!, I say a prayer for you and Rob each time you come to mind, and look forward to the day we can be together again! Thank you, Lord - for the blessing of having this daughter, Stephanie Jean Davy!
