November 25, 2013 A COMMITTED HEART For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. 2 Corinthians 16:9 In our temporal lives, we know how important it is to put our heart into our daily work and practical activities. In the spiritual domain it is equally important. God commands that we love Him with our whole heart, soul, and strength. “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). Yet it is amazing that earnest Christians, who are dedicated to their secular work, are content to give God half-hearted service. It does not seem to dawn upon them that the same committed approach toward the things of God is required. God furthermore encourages us to wait humbly upon Him with a sincere heart. He assures us that His eye will be upon us, and that He will demonstrate His power in us and in our work. Therefore, first thing in the morning, commit yourself to God wholeheartedly. Pray to Him unreservedly with a committed heart and expect in faith that His power will be shown in and through you. It requires first that you will still your heart and mind before God until you are aware that He is at work in you. He promises to shelter you in the day of trouble and set you “high upon a rock” (Psalm 27:5). Have a wonderful day!
