November 3, 2014 Williamsburg Elementary School Families, To honor and celebrate our Veterans this year, Williamsburg Elementary School students, under the leadership of our Student Council, are creating a Wall of Honor to display in our school for Veterans within our school community. The wall will include staff members at W.E.S. who have served as well as family members of students and staff who have or are currently serving our country. I am writing to ask you to send a picture(s) of a Veteran(s) from your family to display on our Wall of Honor along with their military information and how they are connected to your family. Please include your student’s name on the back of the picture(s) so that all pictures can be returned. The Wall of Honor will be displayed in our school through December. Our Student Council will update the Wall of Honor weekly and oversee this portion of the project. To further extend our students’ learning about service, we are asking parents/guardians to send in any unused Holiday Cards left over from previous years. Our students will use these cards to write and send uplifting messages to current service men and women. Our Student Council will work with local organizations to send these cards to service men and women prior to our Holiday break. Veteran’s Day provides a tremendous teaching opportunity for students and offers a way to honor and recognize the service of our Veterans. Thank you in advance for participating and for any card donations you are able to make. Best Wishes, Kevin Dunn Principal Williamsburg Elementary School 513-724-2241 x 202 [email protected]
