Now as the month of global football festival ends, its time to go back to regular routine. This world cup brought a mixed feeling for me. Was happy to see Argentina reaching the final, sad to lose the final, happy to see Messi magic in the group stage games, sad to see the misses from Argentine forwards, happy to see Argentina fighting against the Germans and sad again to see how such easy chances are missed. But most interestingly, I am not that much sad losing the finals that I thought I would. German team might have won my heart by their extraordinary team work and great finishing. I always had a grudge against the Germans from 1990 world cup final, and hated them. With time this hate withered and respect took it place as they showed some awesome performances in the previous world cups, and in this one, they achieved my utmost respect. From a neutral perspective, If I analyze their game, I would say they should not be tagged as machines anymore. Now they play with passion, precision, speed and creativity. Above all they can make their enemy forget the hatred and fall in love with the way the play !! Germany will be the first team from Europe that I will be supporting from now on. The last interesting feeling as a blind Maradona fan was , Hoof !! At last , I am relaxed that his place is not taken by anyone. Nobody can be compared with #ElDiego N.B. : Congratulations to Pele for successfully predicting the world cup champions for the first time :)
