Now for the outside! So hard to capture it all! This cake was made in celebration of 50 years on the land. My little Grandma and her family moved to their farm in the Upper Hunter fifty years ago this week. I had an idea of how I wanted to represent all those years on a cake, but required a little help from my skillful big brother to make the design come to life. Every image has special significance in the history of the farm, the house is a exact silhouette of my Grandmas actual house, the pine trees were planted on the property to celebrate family weddings, water tanks, diesel tanks and tractors are all big features on the farm. And the animals! My favourite part of this whole cake, the german shepherd, the kitty, the magpie and the dairy cattle, all bring back such memories. Ive included the original design by my brother so you can get an idea of all the details. All details were painted on to the cake by hand using black food colouring.
