Now heres something you dont see every day. The New York Times has announced that from now on in its economic reporting, it wont just present raw numbers, but will report them in economic context. This will provide readers with a better understanding of what the numbers really represent, and will also make it easier for readers to detect exaggerated or understated claims politicians try to make based on those raw numbers. When is the last time you heard of any major daily in the country taking steps to improve the quality of its product, rather than merely cutting back to improve a bottom line?
