Now that the World Series is over, Ive got a few things. Nothing against Boston, or the Cardinals for that matter, but can we stop trying to turn everything about sports into the exceptional event. The idea that it was the first time they clinched at home, is manufactured BS. Next time it will be The first time they clinched at home on a Thursday, when there was a full moon. Not every moment has to have the momentous artifically added by announcers. It started a few seasons when sports media needed to have their catch phrase during games and progressed to the Walk Off ____. Whats next? The game ends on a stunning walk off third out, the Walk Off Walk? I blame John Sterling. I actually miss the simple days of listening to Ralph Kiner, Lindsey Nelson, and Bob Murphy on a transistor radio.
