Now that the seagal event is over I just wanted to put the truths out there as I know it factually. Not an opinion, fact. All to confirm without a doubt that the person I was introducing to my family, my community, council and the legion was the real deal. Weather or not people want to accept the fact that we as Mohawks kidnapped children. Not as bad as you think. We sided with the French and British they ordered raids into the the u.s. They ordered the anhiliation of families and we were suffering from disease and children here dying. These warriors took these children, spared their lives, hoped to replenish the population and help grieving Mohawk women with a new child. Two raids happened in 1704, one in MASS and one in Maine. One of the 3 children taken in Maine was John Tarbell, he was taken to st. Regis and folded into the community, hence the Tarbell family. Stevens family is the parents of these children which the lineage then flowed to the Mohawks of at. Regis. The second one, Eunice Williams brought to Kahnawake and given to a grieving Mohawk woman and she was raised. Eunices husband took the Williams name and had three children John, Catherine and Marie. From them the Williams family. Stevens relations are with John Williams on his mothers side again. Steven seagal mothers father (Patricia seagal, died 2003) is Williams, Patricias mother is Tarbell. Steven did not go on ancestry. Com or pay a researcher. He just met great people that were research doctors and connected to official federal historians, and associations and one of Stevens friends is a professor and dean of anthropology and historical research at the university of Arizona. For his birthday she gave him the gift of research two years ago and made these connections official with research institutions. There was two years of very elite research and confirmation happening way before these visits. I dont encourage people to like him, if you dont you dont. I had a very positive experience getting to know him this week, thats my opinion. But research and military information are facts. I really wanted to clarify that and hope it helps.
