Now that things have settled down somewhat, time for an update on - TopicsExpress

Now that things have settled down somewhat, time for an update on the events in my family. Friday of last week, Oct. 3rd, my stepfather was admitted to the hospital with seizure like activity and was also diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia. He has a multitude of health problems related to aging and degenerative processes associated with aging. Presently, his condition is unchanged. My stepsister, Deborah Dunn, is the best in the world and is sticking by her dad nearly 24 hrs a day. My nephew Gable Dunn has a full schedule and is making time to visit with both parents each day. He works, has a young family, and is preparing to graduate from Ole Miss. My mother was taken by ambulance this past Wednesday, Oct 8 for back and chest pain, nausea, hypokalemia, blood pressure irregularities, and heart arrhythmia. Thursday afternoon/early evening, she suffered a heart attack and had to be revived. A cardiac catheterization was performed on Friday and the L. Coronary artery was completely blocked. A stent was put in, everything went well, and she remained in ICU until last night. Presently, she is in Step Down and doing much better. Both are in Baptist Desoto (Southaven). I want to thank everyone for their kindness and consideration over the past 10 days. I sincerely appreciate the support that my friends have shown. You are the greatest. I have heard from people that I knew as a child, friends from church years ago who live out of town, college/undergraduate school friends who are like family, former neighbours who are adopted family members, and my dog show/coonhound family. I love everyone of you. This battle is probably not over and I do not know what is ahead. Being single and an only child, I will need reinforcements from you from time to time. This is not an easy time for the family and we are taking each day as it comes. Once again, a huge thanks to everyone. You are loved and appreciated more than you know. Kathryn Baxter
