Now this is a face/body/image lift! The The New York Times reports that after three and a half years of conservators painstakingly using a tiny laser beam to gently lift centuries of black grime from their ivory bodies and gowns, five of the six #Caryatid statue sisters are back on display again at the Acropolis of Athens Museum. The missing Caryatid maiden is in the British Museum in London, where she has been for the past nearly two centuries, ever since Lord #Elgin had her sawed off the Erechtheion’s porch. People around the world (including celebs, George Clooney and Matt Damon ) are calling for the British Museum to return all the #Elginmarbles and with them this missing statue sister.
