Now this is going to be sensitive. I must confess I am not an expert in Cosmetology but sometimes common sense is richer than academia. I am not attacking anyone but it is always humane to share advice. Today I want to share and hear your views and opinions about this horrible habit that seem to have gripped the so called modern black women, girls and even some men. The habit of skin bleaching in order to look lighter or white. I think skin bleaching started over a 100 years ago after light skinned people poisonously imparted the myth that darker skinned people are less attractive. I suppose many will agree that zvazonyanyisa/seku too much. This has been compounded by the Movie Industry always celebrating light skinned women as an epitome of pure beauty. The misconception that African men prefer lighter skinned women also is nonsensical. As for me. you can call me colour blind, but I have never regarded skin complexion as a yardstick to measure beauty. In fact there is nobody created by God who is ugly. Everyone is differently beautiful. There are very attractive dark skinned people believe me. In any case beauty is in the eyes of the beholder as they say.Let me tell you something, the makers of these Bleaching cosmetics will never tell you that there are after-effects, they are in business! The truth is there is nothing that tempers with the natural colour of your skin without somehow affecting its texture. Remember you are growing older. Mark my words, this will backfire somehow sometime. Now to cap it all, listen my beautiful sisters and handsome brothers who are simmering in the borrowed skin bleached beauty, you are simply saying to your maker God,. You made a mistake. I know better than you. You should have made me light skinned. Really?? God bless Zimbabwe! God bless Africa!
