Now this is what happened to me a while ago: I was in Whinnerz - TopicsExpress

Now this is what happened to me a while ago: I was in Whinnerz Internet Cafe to surf while waiting for 11am. Its a net cafe outside Emall if you take the exit right across UC gymnasium. I got no problem with this cafe before not until this morning when I was treated ill by an attendant. Theyre offering this one-peso printing and I believe thats economical. Customer service (before) was excellent! There was this lady attendant who always smiled at us customers. Internet connection was tolerable. Basically, I would go to a net cafe that offers 10 peso per hour rate. And Whinnerz does that. Now, with what happened to me this morning: I was in the middle of my surfing when power suddenly went off. I had only consumed 30 mins. I went to the counter and asked about my fee. The male attendant said Ten pesos. I said Thirty minutes ra man akong nagamit Kuya (But Ive only used 30 minutes.) He answered Mininum man na namo. (Its our minimum rate.) Keeping my cool, I said Unya mibrown-out man. Mubayad jud mi sa tibuok? (Do we have to pay the full amount when power went off?) And the attendant blurted Abri ang pultahan o! Okay ra man mi if di ka mubayad. Ayaw lang pagreklamo! (The door is open for you. Its alright if you dont pay just dont complain here.) Anger started to crawl on my skin. Since Im a peace-loving person, and I was starting to draw peoples attention in the cafe, and I didnt like that, I immediately said Okay! and went out without paying anything. Inside Emall, I was still thinking about what happened. I knew I could have done something - something that would not end up me not paying anything for a service Ive enjoyed (even if I didnt). I didnt want the attendant and the people who heard us to think that I didnt have money to pay thats why I went out. So I decided to go back to the cafe. Of course, I told myself to keep my composure. I didnt want things to get even more complicated. Facing the attendant again, I said in straight English I came back to pay what Ive used. I have money just in case you think I dont have. I am a reasonable person. I know that business is business but you got to be reasonable too. And please treat your customers well! I handed him a twenty peso bill. Believe me! I tried my best to have grace under too much pressure especially if youre speaking in English! LOL I heard nothing from the attendant. He was wide-eyed. Before going out, I added Keep the change! I know you need it! #RantforACause #QualityCustomerServicePlease #MakibakaWagMatakot
