He is scheduling another press conference for the world journalists. The matter is important because the Nigerian 1999 constitution as amended requires that prospective presidential candidates hold a minimum of high school education. The framers of the constitution set the standard so low that education would not disqualify a determined candidate from running for the office of the president. There are few jobs in Nigeria where the standard is this low. Not for teaching, not for civil service clerk, nothing. I am convinced that the framers were wise to set the standard so low that everybody could meet it.A few weeks ago GMB swore an affidavit that his credentials were with the military authorities. The authorities have denied being in possession of his certificates. He is now asking his old high school to issue him copies. This is exactly what I had asked him to do a couple of weeks ago. I had suggested that he put somebody on a plane to go get it and deliver to both INEC and APC headquarters. It should not have come to this. When GMB “bought” his nomination forms for N27 million he paid for the services of APC secretariat which meant that the office would check and recheck that he had met all the requirements for the office of the presidency. Apparently they did not do this simple task and have opened up their candidate to world ridicule. Some people now doubt that GMB has a high school diploma. Caesar’s wife ought to be above suspicion.GMB has attended many courses above HS diploma as I said earlier. The problem has been that he did not provide any documents that would make his supporters argue that the certificates are at least school cert equivalents. Why did APC allow this to happen? In my small part of Nigeria they assert that Achi adighi eti nmuo ana akwa aka (Achi town does not breed masquerades with wobbly legs or better that they do not own a dog that can’t fight). Can this APC dog fight?GMB should be out detailing policy positions on security, on education, on the economy, on corruption, on unifying the country. Those should be what his world press conference ought to be about. Not about whether he passed school certificate or not. Nigerians have this knack for trivializing everything. I do not know where my HSC is but I do know where my highest degree diploma is. I know that if I needed a job I would be asked to produce it. In all job interviews I have been involved it was never an issue. I am pretty sure that this is the case for 99.99% of Nigerians or rather world working people. Why is producing this certificate taking so long? Why are washing our dirty lining in the public? Where is GMB’s office staff, APC secretariat? They are not doing their jobBy the way why was it easier to swear an affidavit than get the school to issue a duplicate? Is swearing an oath that the certificates are with the military when they are not perjury?Inquiring minds want to know.Benjamin Obiajulu AdubaBoston, Massachusetts,January 21, 2015 Sent from my Iphone On Jan 21, 2015, at 8:12 PM, Baduba54 baduba54@aol [NIgerianWorldForum] wrote:   APC secretariat is failing Mr. Buhari Big Time Today the APC presidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari faced the Nigerian press to talk about his academic qualifications.
