OBJ & HIS EVIL COMMENT: Democracy is popular cos of one of its features which is periodic elections. Periodic election takes place @ least every four years to change the govt in power depending on the constitution of a country. Another good characteristic of democracy is that it guarantees freedom of speech. But when freedom speech of is abuse then democracy is in a great jeopardy. Similarly criticism is wellcome in a democracy but not to the extent of bringinning the govt down. Once the govt is down, the country is down. Frequent attacks by the fmr. President, Obasanjo against President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is unbecoming of an elder statesman. It is an attack on good people of Nigeria. And it is unacceptable to well meaning Nigerians. His unnecessary jabbs on the govt is capable of throwing the country into chaos, thereby destroying our democracy. To put the record right, this democracy was fought by some people like Late Anthony Enahoro, Olu Falae, Bola Tinubu, Balarabe Musa, Col. Umar, Prof. Wole Soyinka, Odigie Oyegun, Ovie Kokori. Also Late business mogul, MKO Abiola and his Late wife Kudirat both died as a martyr. And who was the major beneficiary of that democratic struggle? Obj. For many Obj was an interloper and democratic usurper in that scheme to compesate the Yoruba people for the death of their son, MKO. To be sure, Obj became the Head of State after the assisanation of Murtala Muhammed by Dimka. He never prepared for it. He was released from gaol by IBB after a trump up charges by Late maximum ruler, Sani Abacha, to become the President in 1999. He reneged the agreement he reached IBB & even went ahead to accused IBB and his family of corruption. IBB forgone his presidential ambition and retired to his shell like a tortoise when Obasanjo brandished a big stick at him. Obj had an ample opportunities to change the misfortunes of this great country to a success story but he never did. Obasanjos government was characteristerized with massive corruption, ineptitude leadership, unemployment, infrastructural decay and insensitivity to the plight of Nigerians. He never tolerated any opposition or opposing voices during his govt. If you criticize him your political ambition and life would be in danger. The insecurity we are grappling with today started during his admin. It escalated during Late Musa YarAduas govt. And got servere in Jonathans govt. According to Sun Zu, Master Strategist, in Art War, a good doctor cures an ailment when its in minute stage. So, who actually was in the best position to halt Boko Haram? Obasanjo. This doesnt mean that Jonathan shouldnt something urgent to defeat those islamist terrorists that have brought more pains to Nigerians than joy. During Objs notorious regime, they were low & high profile political assisanations in the country. E.g. Late legal luminary, Bola Ige was killed in cold blood, Henry Marshal, South South PDP Chairman, Rimi of Kano and so many other persons were murdered. Uptil now nobody has been held responsible. Such cruel killings have not been recorded in Jonathans govt. The privatization of government owned companies was a total failure. In fact, it was tragedy of great proportions. Where is our TeleCom giant, NITEL? It has been dwarfed by South African & Middle East TeleCom-MTN and Airtel. Who bought NICO Hilton Hotel and many other companies? What happened to our down stream sector that was privatized by OBJ? Obasanjo came from prison to rule Nigeria with no kobo but left the govt with billion of dollars. As a president he approved university for himself and built it why he was still in power. He didnt stop there, he built a multi billion naira library for himself why in power. His farm that was in shamble was quickly revived. He cajoled the executive beggers; contractors & contract inflators without execution; election sponsors and riggers to denote for the project. In terms of human rights, Obj stands very low. He sacked Odi & Zaki Biam communites & annihilated the people with flimsy execuses. The remaining inhabitants of those two communities are still in psychological trauma. The $15 billion meant for power was siphoned by his govt. What about KOJA which was used to bleed the nations treasury white. During Obj govt part of Nig territory(Bakassi Peninsula) was surrendered to Cameroon as a result of poor litigation. No country surrenders her territory so cheaply in the 21st century. Why Obj was in office, commuters couldnt travel from Benin to Lagos; Onitsha-Aba; Abuja-Lokoja;etc. As a result of bad roads. Objs third term saga was more iniquitous cos a lot of money was thrown to the legislators to support his plan.Obj is angry GEJ cos he could no longer control him. Who is more evil than Obj? For the interest of democracy & Nigeria, Obj should desist from such behaviour cos his utterances can set Nigeria on fire. He should emulate John Kuffor, Thabo Mbeki, Tony Blair, Late Nelson Mandela and Bill Clinton.
