ODMS WALUKE TO WORK WITH PRESIDENT UHURUS JUBILEE ALLIANCE Sirisia MP John Waluke has broken ranks with his colleagues in the Cord alliance and declared he will work with President Uhuru Kenyattas Jubilee coalition to foster development in his constituency. Waluke, who was elected on an ODM ticket said he was keen on the rapid development of infrastructure in Sirisia which has been lagging behind other sub counties in Bungoma due to poor leadership. His public declaration now leaves Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula Cord principal with only four MPs in his camp from the county-Kimililis Suleiman Murunga, Tongarens Eseli Simiyu, Kabuchais Lusweti Mukwe and Kanduyis Wafula Wamunyinyi. Mt Elgons John Serut, an independent, Webuye Easts Alfred Sambu-UDF, Webuye Wests Dan Wanyama (NFK) and Bumulas Boniface Otsiula are already working with Jubilee. The legislator was speaking at Mary Jennifer Yoo Seventh Day Adventist School during a funds drive at which Bungoma governor Kenneth Lusaka was chief guest. In attendance was deputy governor Hillary Chongwony and the local County Public Service Board chairman Gideon Sirai. Sirisia is set to benefit hugely from the construction of Lwakhakha-Sirisia-Chwele road into an all weather one and the construction of a customs station at Lwakhakha border post linking it to Eastern Uganda and the rest of the country in the new financial year. President Uhuru Kenyatta, while attending Lusakas thanks giving party at Kamukuywa on May 17 this year, promised that the road will be tarmacked along with the Kamukuywa-Kaposokwony-Kopsiro-Namwela road. Addressing the gathering, Lusaka said he had received total assurance that the construction of the two roads along with the Brigadier-Misikhu and Musikoma-Buyofu ones will be fully funded by the national government in the new financial year. He said President Kenyatta has given his assurance that Kibabii University will be granted its own charter prior to the end of the year. The governor explained that the sh500 million promised to Nzoia Sugar Company to offset delayed payments to sugar cane farmers had been made available and was now being paid out.
