OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF THE 17TH ANNUAL WORLD CREOLE MUSIC FESTIVAL 2013 ***Festival line up to be announced*** Roseau, Dominica – (July 24, 2013) The Official Launch of the 17th Annual World Creole Music Festival will set off in high gear on Monday 29th July 2013 at the Krazy Koconuts from 6:00pm. The event is presented by the Government of Dominica alongside Headline Partner Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) and Gold Partner ‘Digicel’. The Launch which is an introduction to the signature events to be held during this year’s celebration of 35 years of Independence, will highlight activities surrounding the three nights of pulsating rhythms and most importantly bring closure to the long anticipated questions asked regarding this year’s lineup. Invitees to the Official Launch include Government Officials, Sponsors and other key stake holders of the festival. Addresses are expected from Minister of Tourism, Honorable Ian Douglas; Chairman of the Board of Directors of Discover Dominica Authority, Mr. Benoit Bardouille and Chairman of the Dominica Festivals Committee, Mr. Colin Piper. Invitees will also hear from Gold Partner, Digicel. The World Creole Music Festival will be held from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th October 2013 at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Roseau. World renowned performers hailing from Martinique, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Trinidad, Paris, Nigeria and our very own Dominica will form part of this year’s lineup and will be officially presented that evening. “This year’s Festival plans to be truly bigger and better as we incorporate the 35th celebration of Dominica’s Independence into the theme for the Festival. We have a solid team who is already working hard at ensuring that the Festival will be a memorable one for patrons,” remarked Chairman of the Dominica Festivals Committee and Director of Tourism, Colin Piper. The Official Launch will be broadcasted live via Partners Marpin 2k4, Kairi FM Radio, and SAT Telecommunications.
