OH WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY! Have you ever dreamed of something so bad that you thought you would never get it? I remember as a 4th Grader, I wanted a Honda SL-70 motorcycle (I was kind of like Ralphie of the Christmas Story) but every time I would mention it to my parents they would say “NO” you’ll get killed on that thing. In 1952, Florence Chadwick attempted to swim from Catalina Island to the mainland of California. For close to fifteen hours she swam her heart out as small boats of well-wishers remained close by yelling encouragements to her. Finally, totally exhausted she gave up and was pulled to safety less than a half mile from her goal. When asked why she gave up her reply was, “all I could see was fog… I think if I would have been able to see the shore I would have made it.” How true is that in our lives today? We tend to worry over problems that usually work themselves out; we doubt God and His ability to guide our paths; and we seem to destroy relationships because we allow ourselves to be doom and gloom resulting in everyone avoiding us like the black plague. How hard is it to stay focused on God and His Holy Word and believe His promises? That is why as Christ followers we MUST encourage one another and continually stay in the scriptures through Bible studies and Christian fellowship. Unfortunately we live in a sinful world. It will continue to be that way until God turns to His son Jesus and says, “Go get them!” Then we who are alive will ever be with Him. For it is written, “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth…I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the DWELLING OF GOD IS WITH MEN, and HE WILL LIVE WITH THEM. They will be his people, and God himself will BE WITH THEM and be their God.” (Revelation 21) This is EXCITING NEWS friends! We will one day SEE the face of GOD!!! The earth as we know it will no long be around but a NEW EARTH will take its place. Complete with total beauty and LIFE.
