OK Elevator People: Googie Rene needs no introduction. His ensembles style was an absolute combination of so many different groups of the late 50s and 60s. As a leader and piano player Googie got the best musicians from the Valley. This session is the Stan Kenton whos who of studio guys. Googies piano style sounds much like Ramsey Lewis. This very early 60s gem features Googie narrating some hip jargon to some chick and then the piano takes off, picks up the madrigals, and holds the rhythm until a tenor hops on with an 8 bar lick, next a trumpet w/harmon mute, the band does a staccato thing and back to Romesvilllllle! https://youtube/watch?v=kiZsVRewAzQ
