OK Folks...heres the deal....Major Storm will slowly track up towards the Elbow of Cape Cod and stall out over the Next 24 hours...bands of heavy snow will wrap around the center of circulation...the Western Extent is the most difficult part of this forecast here in Upstate NY....expect New England to be primed for a MAJOR hit....and us on the Western edge...BUT..there will be a VERY tight gradient over us...in a matter of 100 miles going from 2ft in the Berkshires to 2 out towards Utica....so there is little room for error, especially concerning big changes. To be honest with you...even the computer models coming in right now still show highly variable amount of precip. for this area ranging from about 1/2 of liquid to 1.2......This will be a dry snow so a 15 or 18 to 1 ratio likely...powdery-dry snow. Here is where the Warnings area in effect...and yes, a true Blizzard for Eastern New England with winds gusting 50-70mph.....with heavy snow...even locally there could be whiteout esp. in open areas and the higher elevations....so keep that in mind. We will have to monitor this Rapidly intensifying storm tonight and tomorrow morning...and keep an eye on any trends with new data coming in later this evening....
