OK, I had to do some homework to see how my predictions from last year came to pass. I had been praying for the Holy Spirit to help me to see the direction I am to go. but I did not expect this. My guess is not to many of you will read all the reference or even this post. But no matter, I was surprised myself how things will be revealed if we listen. 2014 Domestic predictions: 1. Unemployment down to 6.1%, however, still more Americans underemployed than any time in history. And Obama still has the lowest approval rating of any president. Well, here is the first one, bls.gov/news.release/pdf/empsit.pdf, hmm 5.8% not bad. bls.gov/lau/stalt.htm Underemployment for the US still around 12.5. You have to really get into stats to read through all this, but the evidence speaks for itself. 2. Fed finally inching up interest rates. But, QE does not stop, that makes for an anemic yield curve. treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/interest-rates/Pages/TextView.aspx?data=yield Well, the yield curve is a definite flat curve... QE may be pulled back, a bit, here is the statement from the Federal Reserve. Have your financial lawyers ready federalreserve.gov/newsevents/press/monetary/20141029a.htm I need the Quick take myself and here is a good one from Bloomberg. bloombergview/quicktake/federal-reserve-quantitative-easing-tape federalreserve.gov/releases/h15/data.htm The Fed Funds rate does not an inch make .07 to .09, really, QE is doing what the moneymen and now woman, (Yellen) wanted it to do. However, there is a LOT the money people are not telling you, and they may not even know how this will shake out themselves. Hard Assets for 2015 my friend. 3. Inflation. Are you kidding Americans are used to the downsized increased price in their consumer goods, when Chinas labor force finally figures out how screwed they have been getting, then we will see a global inflation rate spiral upward. Most current rate is 1.3% for twelve months ending 11-2014. How has the size of that box of Coco Puffs held up? Oh, that’s right we don’t count food in the figures. usinflationcalculator/inflation/current-inflation-rates/ 4. Education continues to lose ground to our global counterparts. There is a bright spot were LEAs decide to demand forward funding from their state legislatures and separate those that want to learn from those who are not ready. Comparison to the world is still out. The latest figures are for 2013. But we do have some news on the money, huh, always the money. tulsaworld/newshomepage1/oklahoma-still-leads-nation-in-state-funding-cuts-to-education/article_b272238c-6fd2-5332-a6b5-1667453f079d.html Well, one could only hope for this one. Of course, the Tulsa World story was only one of the ways the numbers could be extrapolated here is the report go see for yourself. tulsaworld/center-on-budget-and-policy-priorities---education-funding/pdf_b7aa137b-6571-5871-8ac9-4c6e2c0e9783.html So here is the state formula calculations for 2014-15, Get ready, 544 school districts are funded along with 8, Eight, yes, count them 8 Virtual Charter schools which are funded at $31.8 Million. ok.gov/sde/sites/ok.gov.sde/files/FY2015%20Adj.%20Calc.%20Sheets.pdf Total Oklahoma budget for common Ed in Oklahoma. $1.844 Billion 5. 12 more states decriminalize marijuana. Reefer Madness is remade by the government. According to NORML norml.org/aboutmarijuana/item/states-that-have-decriminalized 19 states, now have decriminalization laws on their books. Doesn’t mean you can go lite up though. Only two states, Colorado, and Washington have legalized the weed. Oh, and no remake of the 1930s now cult film. 6. An American blogger gets credit for disclosing a massive government corruption scandal, cost top Senate members reelection. OK, may have been thinking individual here and only dealing with domestic issues but can you say Wikileaks? https://wikileaks.org/ These cats are serious and as it turns out Sony may have been the trial run for the Ruskis to cause havoc to the world wide web and then blame it all on poor little Kim Jong-Un. 7. Drone development in the USA will continue to increase, FCC on track for approval in 2015 and video surveillance will continue to increase in use by city municipalities and law enforcement. FCC on track for approval in 2015? I missed that one big time, Try the Federal AVIATION ADMINISTRATION. must have been too much time behind the mic. Strange no one made mention. Truth is it is going to more like a regulation of the entire Industry. But, as of this writing the FAA has still not come up with the regs. droneproject.nationalsecurityzone.org/ and use of drones in the U.S. predicted to be around 30K by 2020. that’s only 5 years away folks. That’s it for the review. 2015 predictions to come. Need some quiet time and meditation on what we can expect for 2015. Until then have a Happy New Year!
