OK, I woke up this morning and was raped, yes raped. Well, not literally BUT my ears were sonically assaulted and I am calling the offenders out. Here on Facebook we have Throwback Thursday and Flashback Friday well damn it, I am creating NO Tailgate Tuesdays. Oh by all the gods why? Why must Jason Aldean love jacked up tailgates what the hell are they anyway. And Brantly Gilbert tonight may be bottoms up but your ass is showing and all of your weak ass one trick pony songs are starting to wear thin. Florida Georgia line should go back home, I wish I could warsh all the Luke Bryant songs I have ever heard down the drain, and the list goes on and on and on. Oh sure, much like swallowing a quarter, you will eventually find something shiny in this shit but lets get real, does anyone REALLY think any of this music is actually good? Even people who were once marginally good are beginning to fall apart: Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton etc. And then there are people who legitimately may have at one time been great and just descended into mediocrity.... I could go on all day listing these folks But thats not what NO Tailgates Tuesday is about, its about getting in touch with good country music. People who seem to have (mostly) avoided the pop country tropes that plague the radio and the industry. I mean its still country music, so I expect some themes to always remain. BUT, this particular brand of bubble gum countrys flavor is running out and I for one am tired of chewing on the rubbery leavings.... So, in Honor of the first NO Tailgate Tuesday I have decided to go back a bit, and pick up with what these country artists seem to think they are emulating and that is Outlaw country.
