OK... Im not one to be a drama queen (well, not in public anyway!), but Im frustrated by the response I have received and I figure if this happened to someone else nearby, I would want to know... I found glass while grating a block of Cracker Barrel cheese last week. It was completely embedded. Called Kraft because it seemed like the obvious thing to do. They let me know I would hear from someone between 48 and 72 business HOURS later. Finally I got a hold of someone today. The man on the phone mentioned, and this is basically a quote, that sometimes Sugar molecules can create crystals that look like shards of glass, but after I described said shards, he admitted it probably isnt the case here. They want to send the glass & cheese to the lab for testing. I might be a bit paranoid, but I really hope they arent screwing around with this. The main reason Im putting this out there in the universe is because I dont trust big corporations like this... I have a fear that once they ship I ship the cheese back, they will just sweep it under the carpet - until someone gets hurt. Better to be cautious, I think! (But Im crazy, so who knows.) Long story short - if youve purchased Cracker Barrel medium cheese in the last little while, please keep an eye out for chunks of glass! I dont want to start a mass paranoia, but I doubt my one block of cheese was the only one affected. Pictures below...
