OK, Transubstantiation, Mass, the Eucharist, etc. These are the RCCs references to ..the Lords supper in 1 Corinthians 11:20. I am not going into the origins of each of the three terms above; I am well informed in that department, so Ill not waste pecks of the keyboard referring to any dogma, encyclicals, et. al. I will rather let the Bible interpret itself as so is to be done (Isaiah 28:9-14). Im sure Im off to a poor start with some of you, but why dont you be as open-minded as I am and just let go for as long as it takes you to read and comprehend this? Before I get into the initial RCC proof text, John 6:48-58, lets first see how the Bible uses similar construction in other doctrines. Matthew 3:11,12 John the Baptist: 11) I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear : he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: 12) Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. One can make verse 11 teach anything from Annie Oakley to Zane Grey. But see how the Bible abolishes any enigma by what it SAYS in verse 12: 11) he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost -- 12) and gather his wheat into the garner 11) and with fire -- 12) but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. No. the Lord isnt going to use some winnowing fan (vs. 11) in that day, unless one goes off in left field by taking it LITERALLY. There are two of seven DIFFERENT Biblical baptisms in this passage, and NIETHER of them are connected with sprinkling, pouring or dunking in WATER. By the way, you want the baptism of fire? Have at it. Not convinced? John 3:5,6 Jesus 5) Jesus answered , Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Make verse 5 teach ANYTHING from Alpha Prime to the Zambia Express. And believe me, those two items are closer than 95% of the theologians Ive read on this passage. Still, let the Bible speak and interpret itself again. 5) Jesus answered , Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water -- 6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh (Have someone explain the birds and the bees if you dont grasp this). 5) and of the Spirit -- 6) and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Go to any seminary, college, university for eight years, sit on an elevated platform like Simon Stylites for decades, eavesdrop on the College of Cardinals, and you will STILL reject a SIMPLE truth. Now for the event were awaiting; John 6. Ill confine it to verses 56 and 57. 56) He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. Please put away mans teachings, catechisms, decrees, edicts, etc. and let the Holy Spirit have his way here before you read further. 56) He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood -- 57) As the living Father hath sent me Yes, he did send Jesus LITERALLY to this earth (Galatians 4:4) in FLESH and BLOOD which ARE meat and drink indeed (vs. 55), {{{{{BUT WATCH IT}}}}} 56) dwelleth in me, and I in him -- Literally?? Physically?? -- AND I LIVE BY THE FATHER -- Literally?? Physically?? Give me a break! (57) so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. -- Literally?? Physically?? How do YOU dwell in HIM? Did HE eat YOUR flesh and drink YOUR blood? What do you do with the Lord Jesus Christ at your morning sit-down until you receive him again next Mass? Oh, thats gross! No, whats gross and barbaric is that you have to have him butchered over and over, taking part in some cannibalistic ritual and STILL HOPE to get to heaven some millennium. I wouldnt give a can of maggots for the holy Eucharist. But from the bottom of my heart, I would like to see you come to the true knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, trust in his ONE finished, complete blood atonement made (Hebrews 10:10-14). Dont let religion take you to the eternal lake of fire (Revelation 20:15). Heavens free for you as hell so is.
