OK; WHY IS THIS ANGLE OF THE STORY NOT BEING TOLD? "One of the MOST POWERFUL FORMS OF STIMULUS we could apply to our economy right now would be to LOWER THE CURRENT SOCIAL SECURITY RETIREMENT AGE... TO 55, AND INCREASE THE BENEFITS..." The more Baby Boomers retire, the more jobs will open up to young people, in turn reducing unemployment. Young people with new families in the workforce will spend more on new cars and homes, as well as goods, services and leisure activities for their children and themselves, in turn strengthening the middle class - the economic backbone of society. More younger professionals may also inject a fresh new creativity into the market, boosting the economy even further. Social Security and Medicare, as retirement incentives, may be the most cost-effective economic stimulus investment we could ever make to save our economic rear ends. So, then... WHY are we being relentlessly driven to believe that we must weaken or even destroy them? I wonder...
