OK guys, hot on the heels of last saturdays amazing gig by Declan Sinnott, we have a very special Open Mic this week - a closing set by two top musicians from Brittany - Mike James & Stephane Gruyer. Dont miss it! Breton Dance music and song - Mike James, Melodeon/Accordéon Diatonique player, (a pillar of the Breton fest noz scene for 30+ years of living and playing in Brittany) will be on tour between 25 October and 1 November in England and Wales with sax and clarinet player Stephane Gruyer. Mike is well-known in Breton and French music circles for his long term partnership with Yves LEBLANC, with whom he has recorded several landmark dance music CDs. The two have played together in the UK at festivals in Yorkshire, Eastbourne, Cardiff, Porthcawl…, as well as many local French and Breton dance workshops all over the UK. Mike has toured for many years all over Europe solo, with Yves Leblanc, or with Welsh expat band TwmTwp, in Italy,Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland, Spain, and Eastern Europe, where last year a long road tour took Yves and Mike through the Czech Republic, Poland, the Baltic States, and as far as Moscow and St Petersburg.
