OK guys ive seen a few of you had issues with leaks in the foot well from somewhere behind the dash? 2000 HZJ79R Ute. I had the issue all through winter on BOTH sides of the cab and pissed me right off. So i had a go about a week ago to solve this. Well long story short I didnt find any direct holes to suggest water leak, and even after pouring water over the cab to find it was inconclusive. After taking the bonnet off and exploring more the only 2 issues that were present would be: 1: Improper fitting of the windscreen seal (My father was sure it was this) and; 2: The factory silicon seals between gaps in water run off channels/areas. (see pic for general area, behind the external panels) I had a feel at the relatively hard to reach areas and felt like the seal was pretty flimsy (inside and outside) and most of it had been pushed away from the joint (after the two surfaces being pushed together then brought away), from factory. Anyway I loaded myself with some gutter silicone and went to town on what i could reach over the old seal. So far it has rained twice with no leakage at all present! IMO put a bit more time into this as i did as i didnt reach as far as i wanted to and be sure to silicone both the interior and exterior. Seems like a sure fix at this stage! Anyone else had success overcoming the issue? Let me know!
