OK help me out here..... Yesterday in the news there was a story about Kodak selling off the real estate of what used to be called Kodak Park, at the corner of Lake Avenue and Ridge Road. Included in this sale is the Memorial resting place of Kodaks founder George Eastman. The story said that arrangements would be made with the future owner of the real estate to care for his gravesite. *** WHAT???? *** So.... youre telling me youre going to make sure the new owners hire some $8 per hour kid with a weed whacker to trim around the headstone of the man who essentially put Rochester New York on the global map???? With all our technology, cant we find someone to carefully MOVE his grave to a cemetery where we the public might even get to visit it? Or doesnt anyone want to pay for that? As it is now, few people even know its there - you cant park anywhere to go see it.... Is anyone stepping forward to make sure this piece of history is protected? Put it in Holy Sepulchre cemetery - or at Kings Landing - or at the George Eastman House! Im in shock.
