OK, here I go again. ;-) I have become increasing concerned about the anthropomorphism evidenced in both Facebook posts and in my conversations with prospective buyers, particularly those who choose to have pets in lieu of human children. There is nothing wrong with that choice, but anthropomorphism can be unhealthy for their pets. One trend I have seen is the aversion to the use of crates in the car. So I have added another clause to my sales contract, to wit: The use of a crate (Vari-Kennel or wire) is essential to the safety and training of the puppy. A crate is to be used at all times for car travel, for containment in the house when the puppy is unsupervised, for eating (regardless if there are other pets in the home) and for sleeping at night. After the puppy is two years old, the crate becomes optional for all activities except car travel, and for eating if there is another pet in the house.
