OK, the 100km trek is now over and both James and I had an exceptionally good little adventure with no injuries other than sore feet and a couple of backpack rubs, which was to be expected. We walked through some really beautiful countryside along the South Downs and I would certainly encourage any of you to pay it a visit, albeit theres a lot more ups on the Downs than you expect. All in all our total ascent and descent was around 7000ft over the 100km (yes i know - imperial and metric!) and at times was tough going. I want to thank Joao for his support in meeting us at lunchtimes with the tastiest rolls and cakes and helping set up camp, along with his unerring sense of humour and banter which I cannot repeat on here! Thankyou too, to all of you that have taken the time to sponsor us. Every single pound is most gratefully received and will be faithfully applied. Your generosity has certainly made this event worthwhile. On that note, the most surprising thing that occurred is when we had finally finished at Beachy Head and asked a complete stranger to take a photo of us both. When we explained what we had done and what for, he and his wife put their hands in their pockets and donated £5! It was a wonderful ending to the trek. If you havent had the time to donate yet, you still can so please follow the link below and throw us some more sheckles! Especially Martin, Simon, Ian, Jason and Jason Sean!! Yes, you lot!!! Do it NOW before your fat wallets give you piles!!!
